Why we picked it
Towel weight is a trade-off nobody explains when you're buying them. Under about 500 GSM they feel thin and cheap; over 700 they're lovely for thirty seconds and then hang wet on the rail until Thursday. 600 sits in the useful middle. Turkish cotton has long fibres, so these get softer with washing rather than going stiff and flat, which is where supermarket towels tend to end up after a year.
Styling notes
Fold them in thirds and then in half over the rail, which is the way hotels do it and takes no longer than any other method. Keep the whole set to one tone, because a bathroom usually looks accumulated rather than styled for the simple reason that the towels arrived in four different colors across six years. Roll the spares and stack them in a basket or on an open shelf so you can see the texture. Run them through a couple of washes before first use to bring the pile up properly.

- Machine washable. Skip the fabric softener, which coats the fibres and kills absorbency.
