- Material: speckled stoneware
- Works with: wax melts, jar candles, essential oils
- Notes: plugs in, produces no smoke or soot, and nothing needs extinguishing
Why we picked it
A warmer fixes both of the annoying things about candles. There's no open flame, so you can leave it running in a bedroom or walk out of the room without a small nagging thought. And it melts wax at a lower temperature than a wick does, which means the scent lasts longer and you're not burning through a jar in a fortnight. The speckled glaze keeps it looking like a ceramic object rather than an appliance.
Styling notes
Use it in the rooms where a candle makes you uneasy: a bedroom shelf, a bathroom, anywhere with a curious cat or a small child. Beyond wax melts, it quietly solves the last two centimetres of every jar candle where the wick has drowned and no match will reach. A few drops of essential oil in the dish work too, if you'd rather diffuse than melt. Because it reads as a small piece of pottery first, it can stay out on the shelf between uses instead of living in a cupboard.
Good to know
- It rescues the last of half-burnt jar candles you can no longer light.
- Wipe the dish while the wax is still warm when you want to switch scents.
